Registered Dietitian NutritionistThe Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) for Bobcat Athletics will assist 15 NCAA Division 1 sports programs and rodeo and spirit squad programs to provide nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy to individual student athletes, teams and coaches. This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student Services.The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) for Bobcat Athletics will provide nutrition counseling and nutrition therapy and education to individual student athletes, teams and coaches. The dietitian will have ownership of the Fieldhouse and BAC fueling stations, managing them in an organized and food safe manner. This includes maintenance, stocking and distribution of nutritional supplements to approximately 400 student-athletes. The dietitian will make informed decisions regarding athletes' nutrition, hydration and sleep, both in and out of season.Lead and manage all aspects of the Athletics Sports Nutrition Program to support student-athlete health, wellness, recovery, and performance. Provide individualized nutrition assessment, counseling, and medical nutrition therapy for student-athletes, including performance nutrition, body composition goals, food allergies, and other nutrition-related health concerns. Develop and deliver sport-specific nutrition plans and education related to fueling, hydration, recovery, competition, travel, and supplementation. Collaborate with coaches, athletic trainers, team physicians, strength and conditioning staff, and other performance professionals on and off campus to provide integrated care and optimize student-athlete performance. Oversee fueling stations and nutrition operations, including budgeting, purchasing, vendor relations, inventory management, food safety, and service delivery. Coordinate nutrition support for practices, competitions, training camps, and team travel, including pre- and post-competition meal planning and recovery strategies. Educate student-athletes and staff on NCAA regulations regarding dietary supplements, banned substances, and safe supplement practices. Collect and evaluate nutrition-related data to assess outcomes and enhance program effectiveness. Supervise graduate assistants, interns, and student employees and support their professional development. Participate in departmental planning, budget development, and strategic initiatives. Maintain current RDN credentials, licensure, and professional competencies. Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy AD for SA Wellness and/or Director of Athletics.Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition or related field. Registered Dietitian credential through Commission on Dietetic Registration. Experience working with sports teams developing and executing nutritional programs and providing education to coaches, staff and players/student-athletes. Experience communicating with numerous constituencies in a professional and effective manner. Experience managing staff Experience managing a nutrition and fueling station budget. Excellent written communication and customer service skills.Masters degree in Nutrition or related field. National Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS or CSCA). Food service experience. Experience working in a NCAA Division 1 nutrition program. Understanding of NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules and regulations.This individual must possess high ethical standards, extreme attention to detail, integrity and a willingness to exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, University and departmental rules and regulations. Must be willing to work as a team member with coaches, athletic staff, student-athletes and several institutional departments. Excellent budget management skills.
