Cashier Position at Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent seasonal opening for the Cashier position at the Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack. The Summer season is from June 10th through September 6th.

Responsible for – Performs the daily activities of the cashier function by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:

• Maintains accurate accounting of all credit card sales on assigned location.
• Performs location worker assignments.
• Organizes all paperwork for cashier responsibilities including cash slips, over-ring and under-ring forms, and house charges.
• Verifies the proper items prices to the menu
• Verifies restaurant staff transactions and keeps cash register balanced.
• Monitors the proper recording of meal vouchers.
• Maintains accurate credit card handling procedures at all times.
• Follows all rules and regulations of Food and Beverage area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• High School or GED
• Must have basic working knowledge of cash register and cash handling procedures.
• Restaurant experience – a plus.

Skills and Abilities

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have sufficient math ability to accurately count and handle money.
• Must be able to use restaurant point of sale system.
• Must have basic working knowledge of concession/cafeteria operation.
• Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
• Must have a pleasant personality and a neat appearance.
• Must speak and understand English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors and employees.
• Must be able to move between buildings and food areas and stand for long periods 2-4 hours.

Computer Skills

Aloha / Toast POS systems – a plus.

Compensation

This position's compensation will range from $21 to $23 per hour.

Must be able to work weekends, holidays, full week.
